Hoschton Population Growing Larger Everyday (with the “wrong” Crowd!)
September 2nd, 2008 Categories: Fun Stuff
Don’t be surprised if you drive through Hoschton and see lots of townspeople lining the streets. But wait! These people aren’t moving and they’re awfully quiet. Hey, they’re all scarecrows!
The city of Hoschton (located on Highway 53 between Braselton and Winder) has added almost 3000 silent residents in the last few weeks. Organizers of the annual Fall Festival hope to have 4000 scarecrows on display by September 1st throughout the Hoschton zip code. They are trying to break the record held by the Cincinnati Horticultural Society. Check out the Fall Festival Website http://www.hoschtonfallfestival.com/
Take a drive out Braselton Highway from Hamilton Mill this weekend. Turn right at GA 53 in downtown Braselton and before you know it, you’ll be in Hoschton. The city limits sign has several scarecrows to welcome you. Drive around town and also out GA 332 to see all the scarecrows. Then on your way back, if it’s Saturday, you can stop for an ice cream treat at the Mayfield Dairy!!!

Good post. I know a few people from Hoschton and Braselton who are heavily involved in the “Scarecrow” project. The festival is going to be great also with some great country music.
