Do you love baseball, especially minor league baseball? How would you like to live right next to the new Gwinnett Braves stadium?
Well, it could happen. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved to new mixed-use project proposed for the 73.5 acres surrounding the new stadium between Rock Springs Rd and Old Peachtree Rd.
There are still a lot of details to be laid out and the final plans must go before the Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia Regional Authority before going through public review process. The general plans at this early stage include 610 residential units, a 300-room hotel, 351,000 square feet of commercial space and 617,000 square feet of office space. The stadium will be a focal point, but this development will allow for economic growth and development throughout the year.
As Gwinnett county continues to grow, interest in innovative “live, work, play” mixed-use developments continues to expand. This project is one of many similar projects being considered or already underway within the county, including the Suwanee Gateway development at I-85 and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd, as well as mixed-use proposals for the Gwinnett Place Mall area in Duluth, Loganville off Hwy 78 and in downtown Norcross.
